Message I've enjoyed your articles, followed the mag, and spoken at length with Mike Smith at length concerning yours, and my own buildup.

I've really, really developed a distaste for some members on this forum reading 3 posts about turbos and nominating themselves experts on all forced induction.

Just because the JWT Sport 650 is the largest turbo Jim Wolf publicly offers and encourages doesn't mean its obnoxiously laggy or NOT acceptable for street/road racing, which is how I labeled them in a recent post regarding your car.

A "T28" that is somewhat popular here will have more lag, and feel 'less torquey' than a proper set of 650's. Sorry, engineering and physics win here.

My personal choice of turbo has been tailored to the great research and "anal"-ness Mike K (I'm Mike K too, haha) has set forth here. All of us could benefit from partaking in some humble pie, and spending some time to understand how and why the process he's went through is being done.

The one argument I've heard about Mike's car, is that its built to handle turbos of far greater size. It is. Overbuilding is a wonderful thing. And gives you a better safe/buffer zone.

Some, including myself, have said repeatedly, JWT overbuilds, and under-rates his equipment. I would prefer this to underbuild, and over-rating, any day. 550 at the wheels is an honest, but again, somewhat conservative estimate. You should produce that power with less effort than many vg30's.

Please don't be discouraged by any negativity expressed here or elsewhere!
